About: Patch is stretching the borders of the hamlet a bit this week to showcase a summer series of plays presented by the West Islip-based theater group, which are being held in Kings Park. Local residents looking for an entertaining yet, economical night may make the short drive to Nissequogue River State Park.

Airmid’s presentation of A Little Betrayal Among Friends will cover 16 performances. Opening night is Wednesday, July 27, at 7 p.m. with the final performance slated Sunday, August 14, at 3 p.m. Performances run for three weeks with Wednesday through Saturday show times at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m.

The theater group touts the play as a romantic comedy that puts a twist on the traditional Don Juan legend. It shows how, even 400 years ago, women recognized their own sexuality and felt the tug of war between their own needs and the role they were expected to play in society.
