About: The late winter concert from the West Islip Symphony is presenting “A Wee Bit O’ Ireland” that will feature several works including “Irish Suite” from Leroy Anderson, Grieg Peer Gynt Suits and Mendelssohn Hebrides Overture (Fingal’s Cave). In addition, soloist Daniel Flam (trombone) will be performing a piece by Leopold Mozart.
The symphony is lead by Conductor Murry R. Kahn. A native of Scranton, Pa., Kahn studied trumpet with Louis Chiavacci and keyboard with Ann Liva. He graduated with honors and advanced standing from West Chester University and attended the Juilliard School as a student of William Vacchiano.
