Event: Attend a PTA Meeting Where: Schools throughout West Islip Next Meetings: Each school's PTA holds meetings monthly About: The West Islip School District has 10 PTA units covering its nine schools and special education. Each unit holds a variety of fundraisers throughout the school year with all proceeds used to further enhance the educational programming for students. PTAs allow parents to have a voice within local schools and allow for discussion with teachers and building administrators. This week, several PTAs will hold meetings: Bayview: Wednesday, February 16, 7 p.m.; Bellew: Thursday, February 17, 9:30 a.m.; Manetuck, Thursday, February 17; 9:30 a.m. For more information on PTA meetings, check the school district's website or the West Islip Council of PTAs website for more information.
