Good Sam Volunteers Honored for 20K Hours of Service

Three volunteers awarded for their extraordinary contributions.

Three Good Samaritan volunteers were recently presented with the “Caught You Caring” Award for their ongoing contributions and countless service hours, the hospital announced.

The reason for the award?  

Simple; Alice and Ken Weckerle and Charles Dudley have combined to donate over 20,000 hours of service to the hospital over the last 50 years.

Most recently, the Weckerles have been collecting over 2,500 raffle tickets as part or a major fundraiser organized by the , in which Alice is charter member (she's been with the Guilds since 1958).

According to the hospital, Ken and Charles have been doing most of their volunteer work when they retired.

“Being part of the volunteer program at Good Sam has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life," Ken Weckerle said.  "There is always so much activity, it helps keep me young.
