Kelly Takes Gold at Lake Placid Luge Event
WI native Aiden Kelly continues to advance his winter luge career.

The accolades are mounting up for 17-year-old Aidan Kelly. Â
The Olympic hopeful recently took home his latest medal, this time a gold at the Adirondack Luge Club's annual 'Icebreaker' event in Lake Placid.Â
The West Islip native, who's a senior at the National Sports Academy in Lake Placid, had a combined two-run time of 1:30.765, which was good enough to earn him the top spot on the podium.Â

Before earning gold, Kelly recently competed in two races in the Junior World Cup circuit, finishing 13th in Salt Lake City, Utah and eighth place in Calgary, Alberta.
In 2012, Kelly is slated to race the FIL (Federation of International Luge) Junior World Cup Races which are held throughout Europe. Having aged out of the Youth A category, he'll now race in the Junior Men category ranging in age from 17-20 years old.Â
