Library to Host Gingerbread House Competition

Will take place this Saturday, Nov. 26 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

 

Calling all culinary architects; break out the edible glue. 

The Sagtikos Manor Historical Society is excited to announce the 1st Annual Gingerbread House competition. The event will take place at the West Islip Library this Saturday, Nov. 26 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

The society is calling anyone with artistic talent to design their own gingerbread creation working with this year's theme of "Treasures of Christmas." 

Winners will be come from two divisions:

1) Adults (17 and older):  The winner of this division will be awarded $100.

2) Children (8-16): The winner of this division will be awarded $50. 

The top-three winners of each division will have their creation on display during Christmas Tour Weekend at Sagtikos Manor (Dec. 10 & 11). 

The public is welcome to view and judge the centerpieces and if you'd like to register (must check to see if there is still room), please email phyllis@sagtikosmanor.com or call 631.321.6809.
