It’s a busy week in West Islip highlighted by community group meetings and events at local schools and at the public library. Here are some of the highlights of happenings around the community.
Monday, Nov. 28
There is a mandatory meeting for all parents of high school winter athletes (7 p.m., Beach Street Middle School).

Tuesday, Nov. 29
Tonight is the last possible night the community can give their input on the school closure situation. The BOE planning session begins at 8 p.m. in the auditorium. If you're unfamiliar with all the talk going on.... Â

Wednesday, Nov. 30
Uh oh kids; it's parent-teacher conference night for all elementary schools.  Make sure you're extra good on Monday and Tuesday.Â
There's also a high school chorus concert at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 1
Good Samaritan is hosting an all-day blood drive beginning at 6 a.m. and running till 9 p.m. Look for the Blood Bus in the hospital's parking lot.
Friday, Dec. 2
Dan Shutte will be performing a concert at 7:30 p.m. at 455 Hunter Ave. Tickets for adults are $10 and $5 for young adults/children. To purchase your tix, call 631-661-3224 x 1
