The Week Ahead: Events Happening in West Islip

It may be rainy this week, but there are still plenty of events going on around town. Take a look at what's happening in West Islip in the next few days.

Head to the West Islip Library Monday at 7 p.m. to join the Knitting Club. The group is open and always seeking new members to share tips and tricks of the trade. Members should bring their own needles, pattern and yarn.

If you're thinking about getting a pet, or simply want to learn how to better care for the one you already have, the library is hosting a two-hour program on how to properly care for and monitor the well-being of animals. A representative from Almost Home Animal Rescue Adoption will be on hand to answer questions.  

Good Samaritan Hospital will be collecting blood donations on Wednesday all day from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Come down and donate to those who desperately need it.

Need some insight into your life? Mystic Louis will be available for Tarot card readings Tuesday night starting at 7 p.m. Private readings are $25.

Catch a free movie at the library on Thursday, as they'll be screening the 2006 film Blame It On Fidel!, which is set in early-1970s revolutionary Paris.
