Teens in grades seven through 12 are invited to the library Wednesday for a night of making projects and having a good time with friends. This event is free.

Helping Hands of west Islip, a local charity, is seeking donations of backpacks and school supplies to give to needy children for the coming school year, as well as lunch boxes with non-perishable food items such as granola bars, fruit cups and juice boxes. As a way of celebrating 50th Anniversary and paying homage to the great memories made there, the school will be hosting a fond farewell event Thursday at 5:30 p.m. All present and former Westbrook fans are invited, including former students, parents, PTA members and staff.
