The Week Ahead: Xmas Concerts, Fundraisers

Lots of holiday themed events going on this week in West Islip.

It’s a busy week in West Islip highlighted by holiday-themed activities at local schools and at the public library. Here are some of the highlights of happenings around the community.

Monday, Dec. 12

Learn guided yoga relaxation techniques and reduce stress with Jackie Morrison at the library from 7-9 p.m.  Bring a blanket or a mat and a pillow if you require support for your knees or back.

Tuesday, Dec. 13

E.P.I.C. (Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage), library 2-3 p.m.

Wednesday, Dec. 14

If you've ever need to learn gift wrapping techniques, now's your chance.  Teens can attend a course at the library from 7-8 p.m.  

Also, the Boy Scout Troop 179 will be hosting a fundraiser at the Bay Shore TGI Fridays all day.  Print out a and Fridays will donate $5 for every $20 that's spent.  

Thursday, Dec. 15

The Chamber of Commerce is hosting their annual holiday party starting at 6 p.m. at American Legion Post 1738. 

In-Style Salon & Spa will also be hosting a MOROCCANOIL event form 5-8 p.m..  

Friday, Dec. 16

St. John the Baptist presents "We Wish You Christmas" at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium.  Join the the Performing Arts Department for a festive holiday choral and dance concert. Tickets are $7 per person.
