VIDEO: A Celebration of Marriage Equality

Long Island GLBT Network members, supporters celebrate recently approved landmark legislation.

Following Friday’s historic vote in the New York State Legislature, members of Long Island’s gay community gathered in Bay Shore Monday to celebrate the legalization of in the Empire State.

Led by David Kilmnick, chief executive officer of the Long Island GLBT Network, members and supporters of the group met to celebrate their victory and recall the fight for equality that began in earnest in 2003.

This past Friday, the state Senate narrowly approved the equality bill that was signed into law by Governor Andrew Cuomo. The legislation officially becomes law in late July.
