While sports including soccer and lacrosse have dominated the West Islip High School sports landscape, field hockey has long been a mainstay. Among the top players on the field hockey team is goaltender Olivia Kelly. Kelly was a member of USA Futures in 2011, 2012 and 2013. This past fall, she was instrumental in leading West Islip to a playoff birth and an opening round 4-3 victory over Comsewogue. In that game, Kelly made 11 save.
