West Islip Native Heading to Olympic Trials
Pro distance runner Allie Kieffer will compete for a spot in the Olympics Friday.

ORIGINAL STORY: West Islip native Allie Kieffer has her eyes set on the Olympic Games, and this week she'll compete against America's best athletes for the chance to represent the U.S. Track and Field Team at the London Games.
The 24-year-old track star will run the 10K in the U.S. Olympic Trials - Track and Field on Friday in Eugene, Or.

Kieffer began her running career at West Islip High School, where she lettered in indoor track four times as well as three times each in both cross country and outdoor track. She was also a finalist at the 2003 Foot Locker Cross Country Championships. Kieffer continued to run at Wake Forest and Arizona State Universities.
Locals can watch Kieffer on Friday, June 22 at 10:20 p.m. on NBC Sports Network.
