Suffolk Woman Finds Missing Cat In Highway Sewer Through Air Tags

The cat was trapped in a sewer in the middle of Sunrise Highway.

WEST ISLIP, NY — A cat reunited with a West Islip woman after she used his Apple Air Tag to find him stuck in a sewer near Sunrise Highway, News12 reported.

Jessica Li told News12 that her cat, Petey, went missing for five days when she received a ping from the tag in the middle of Sunrise Highway.

Apple Air Tags are quarter-sized Bluetooth trackers designed to help keep tabs on valuables or frequently lost items like your car keys, wallet, or luggage. When activated, the tag makes a sound to help find a lost item.

Petey was equipped with a tag. With the help of professional pet tracker and her dog, the trio followed the sound of the tag along Sunrise Highway.

They discovered Petey was underneath Sunrise Highway in the sewer. She then lunged into the water and rescued Petey.
