Women of WI Support Westbrook's Essential Food Pantry
Pantry created to help needy families across the hamlet.

As part of their holiday giveback initiative, Regina Jacoby and Judi Ryan, on behalf of the Women of West Islip, donated Thanksgiving baskets, personal hygiene items, and cleaning supplies to the Essential Pantry.
"The Essential Pantry, located at Westbrook Elementary School, was started by West Islip School District social workers, Carrie Russo and Helene Dellas-diBona," said Patty Vorilas, co-founder of WOWI. "The goal of the Essential Pantry is to provide personal and household essentials to families in need in our community.
Vorilas also said that the WOWI adopted a family through the social workers in which they'll donate new Christmas gifts next week.

"I think, especially at this time of the year, people should be aware of the needs in our community and that this pantry even exists," she said.
Residents that want to donate to the Essential Pantry can drop off goods (please, no food) at any school in the district. School officials said the pantry is constantly in need of refilling.
