Jimmy Kimmel Presents 'Do The White Thing,' Sequel to the Spike Lee Classic

“’Do The Right Thing’ came out in 1989, and Brooklyn has changed a lot since 1989,” Jimmy Kimmel told his live audience during Back To Brooklyn week at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House.

“There used to be muggers right in this neighborhood, stealing old ladies’ purses,” Kimmel said. “Now those old lady purses are being worn ironically by hipsters in the area. But this is exciting because this week, 26 years after the original, we finally have a sequel to ’Do The Right Thing’ that I think does an equally good job of capturing the spirit and feeling of Brooklyn, New York, now.”
