WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — An unidentified person jumped in front of an L Train at Brooklyn’s busy Bedford Avenue subway stop just after 4 p.m. on Sunday evening, according to a spokesman for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).
“The person was removed alive,” the MTA spokesman said.
According to the Fire Department of New York (FDNY), the victim was male. He was removed from the tracks and transported to Woodhull Medical Center in upper Bed-Stuy in cardiac arrest, which is considered a life-threatening condition, an FDNY spokesman said.
Neither the MTA nor FDNY could provide updated details on the victim’s condition as of 6:30 p.m.
L Train service was initially halted between the Myrtle-Wyckoff and 8th Avenue stations, according to Gothamist. However, service was reportedly back to normal by 5:40 p.m.
