Netflix Superhero Show Will Be Blowing Things Up in Brooklyn Wednesday Night
You've been warned.

GREENPOINT, BROOKLYN — City officials are warning residents to expect a series of simulated explosions Wednesday night at a private lot on North Henry Street between Greenpoint and Norman avenues.
Up to six explosions will shoot about 15 feet into the air between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., according to the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME).
“It’s possible the fireballs may be seen on Manhattan side as they may go as high as 15 feet,” MOME said in a statement. However, the sounds created by the explosions are “expected to be somewhat minimal.”
The NYPD and FDNY will both be on site to monitor the situation.
The explosions are being filmed for “Luke Cage,” Netflix’s latest adaptation of a Marvel superhero comic, a spokeswoman for MOME told Patch. (Well, technically they’re being filmed for the Netflix show “Tiara,” but — as every comic-book nerd knows by now — “Tiara” is just the secret Hollywood code name for “Luke Cage.”)
If you do happen to catch Greenpoint’s superhero fireballs on camera Wednesday night, by all means, reach out: simone.wilson@patch.com.
