Possible Suicidal Gunman Loose in Central Park: NYPD
A 911 caller alerted police to the threat Wednesday morning.

Police say they received a 911 call around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday morning, warning them of an “emotionally disturbed person” loose in the Central Park area — possibly suicidal, and possibly carrying a firearm.
“The Central Park precinct received a phone call from a friend of an individual who stated he was in possession of a firearm and suicidal,” an NYPD spokeswoman told Patch.

The man still had not been located by 1:45 p.m., police said.
According to Gothamist, the news outlet that first reported the threat, this individual, believed to be a black man in his 20s, was last seen at Lenox Avenue and 110th Street, near the East 110th Street Playground at the north end of the park.
