NYPD officers were able to rescue six of the seven tiny gray fuzzballs. And they took pics.

UPDATE, Wednesday: "The kittens are currently being cared for at the ASPCA facility on the Upper East Side," an ASPCA spokeswoman tells Patch by email. "It is too soon at this point to discuss adoption." So, to everyone who's been asking: Have patience. We'll let you know as soon as Williamsburg's unreasonably fuzzy briefcase kittens are ready to find their forever homes.

"These lil' guys were thrown in a suitcase & saved by officers Piridis & Goris," the precinct tweeted, along with a set of cripplingly cute photos of said officers cuddling the kittens back in the safety of precinct headquarters.

Cops are hoping a member of the public might come forward with more info about who abandoned these little guys; anyone with a tip can call 1-800-577-TIPS.

An NYPD spokesperson told Gothamist that the kittens were found inside a briefcase in the parking lot of 373 Wythe Ave. — a pretty desolate area beneath the Williamsburg bridge. One of the seven kittens in the briefcase was dead, police said, and one had an injury.

The little ones are now in ASPCA care while the NYPD investigates.
