'Specialized Triathlon Bicycle' Stolen From Outside Brooklyn Brewery: Video

In broad daylight.

A ”specialized triathlon bicycle” belonging to a 47-year-old cyclist was stolen from outside Williamsburg’s Brooklyn Brewery location on North 11th Street just after 4 p.m. on Sunday, according to the NYPD.

The suspect removed the bicycle, which was “chained to a bike rack outside the Brooklyn Brewery,” police said — then “fled to parts unknown.”

The NYPD released surveillance footage of the thief making off with the bike.

In the video, the suspect circles the area on foot for a while — adjusting his hood, eyeing his target, leaning on a nearby parked vehicle and acting generally sketchy. Then he makes his move: He fumbles for a minute with whatever is keeping the bike chained to the bike rack, removes the bike and cruises off.

Police describe the suspect in the video as a 30- to 40-year-old white man ”last seen wearing green hooded jacket, gray jeans, black sneakers and carrying a black book bag.”

Anyone with information about the suspect or the crime is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS. Tips can also be submitted online or by texting 274637, then entering TIP577.
