5 Things: '70s Groove Party and Free Kids Lacrosse Clinic

Brooklyn information and events you won't want to miss.

1. Get Funky. Relive the '70s at The Cookie Cutta Experience at The Way Station for a "70s Groove Party full of Funktastic Flava." Come dressed in your '70s best. The Way Station in Prospect Heights, 9 p.m. No cover. 

2. Give the kids a taste of Lacrosse. The Brooklyn Lacrosse Club is holding the first of three Free Youth Clinics for boys and girls from Pre-K through 8th grade. P.S. 10, 511 7th Ave. at 17th Street, 12 to 3 p.m. Free.  

3. Jazz it up. For a night of jazz, head to the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music to hear the Javon Jackson Quartet with special guest Ron Carter. 58 7th Ave. at Lincoln Place, 7 p.m. $15 to $25 (kids $10).

4. Go country. On the other hand, there's a great country/honky-tonk/post-punk line-up tonight at Union Hall with Alex Battles and the Whiskey Rebellion, Karen and the Sorrows and Tatters and Rags. The country-fest is followed by Crazy $ince Da 90$ a DJ'd romp through the decade's hip hop, R&B, pop, house, grunge and alternative. Country begins at 9 p.m. and is $8, the 90s-fest begins at 11:30 p.m. and is free.

5. Leave the car. No need to find a Tuesday spot over the weekend because Alternate Site will be suspended Monday for President's Day.
