Outgoing Brooklyn Pol Will Talk Local Laws, Answer Burning Qs in Kensington Thursday

Here's your chance to catch New York State Assemblyman James F. Brennan in a state of lame duck candor.

KENSINGTON, BROOKLYN — Outgoing Assemblyman James F. Brennan and Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams are scheduled to attend Thursday's meeting of the Albemarle Neighborhood Association (ANA), a local organization focused on the Kensington community.

The meeting will run from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 22, and will take place at at the Flatbush and Shaare Torah Jewish Center, located at 327 E. 5th St.

According to one of Brennan's staffers, the assemblyman will be discussing state legislation relevant to his district. (Asked for more specifics Wednesday, the staffer said that's all she knew.)

Larry Jason, who heads the ANA, said the homeless shelter on McDonald Avenue would be up for discussion at Thursday's meeting. Jason said the ANA is very supportive of the shelter, but that its members would like an update regarding the shelter's integration into the community.

Brennan, who represents District 44, chose not to run for re-election this year. On Sept. 12, Democrat Bobby Carroll won the primary election to become the district's new Democratic nominee. Carroll will face off against Republican Glenn Nocera in the General Election on Nov. 8.
