Police Blotter: A Burglary and a Cell Phone Snatch

Home Invasion

A Kensington man was beaten up and robbed in his own home by two thugs who broke into his East 8th Street and Cortelyou Road residence last Tuesday.

The victim, a 48-year-old man, told police that the perps entered the house and first began arguing with him before beating him in the head, face and hands with electric hair clippers and another blunt object. They then made off with $1,600.

The victim was transported to Maimonides Medical Center with injuries to his head.

iPhone Snatch

A woman's iPhone was plucked from her hand last Friday by a passing cyclist.

The 32-year-old victim was walking near Ocean Parkway and Albermarle road when she was approached by someone on a yellow bike, who yanked the phone from her hand before riding away in an unknown direction.

No arrests have been made.
