Man Found Dead In Prospect Park Lake
Police sirens and a helicopter were spotted in the area Monday night.
PROSPECT PARK, NY — A person was found dead Monday night in Prospect Park Lake, the NYPD told Patch, sending cop cars and at least one helicopter swarming to the scene. (Note: updates on this story can be found here. Continue reading for Patch's initial report on this incident.)
An NYPD spokesman told us that a male was discovered dead-on-arrival in the lake with no apparent signs of trauma. He was taken out of the lake by authorities, the spokesman said.
After seeing reports of the police activity in the area, Patch reached out to NYPD, who initially told us there was a search underway for a missing person.
