Windsor Terrace Dad Says Prospect Ave. Hit-And-Run Left His Daughter With a Concussion
A Windsor Terrace father says his daughter was knocked out by a hit-and-run driver while riding her bike on Prospect Avenue this month.

WINDSOR TERRACE, BROOKLYN — A Windsor Terrace father who says his 26-year-old daughter was the victim of a neighborhood hit-and-run this month is hoping someone saw the driver responsible.
The father, who asked that his name be withheld for privacy reasons, said that shortly after 6 p.m. on Aug. 8, his daughter was riding her bike down Prospect Avenue between the Seely Street bridge and Vanderbilt Street when she was struck by a car, sending her flying off her bike and knocking her unconscious. The car then fled the scene, he said.
The FDNY said that it responded to the location and removed a victim to Methodist Hospital with non-critical injuries, but a spokesman said he couldn't confirm the victim had been struck by a car.

However, an NYPD spokesman said a police investigation has concluded that a hit-and-run took place.
According to the concerned dad, his daughter doesn't remember the accident, which left her with a concussion that "is a hell of lot worse than we thought." Nearly two weeks later, he said, "she gets dizzy every day."

She also suffered lacerations above her eye and multiple fractures on the right side of her face, he said. While describing the incident to Patch on the phone last week, the father began to cry.
He's asking anyone who may know about this crime to call the detective squad of the NYPD's 72nd Precinct. The number for the office is 718-965-6336.
And he wants the city to consider putting speed bumps on the downhill stretch of Prospect Avenue where his daughter was injured, adding that neighbors told him "people fly down that street all the time."
