14-Year-Old Accused Of Violating Protection Order In Yorktown

Yorktown police said the teen ran into the person under the order of protection at a gas station and began shouting at him.

YORKTOWN, NY — A 14-year-old boy was accused of violating an order of protection.

The Yorktown Police Department said the teen was charged Wednesday with juvenile delinquency, with the underlying charge being second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.

According to police, shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday, a report of an order of protection violation was received.

An officer met with the juvenile victim and his family members and started an investigation.

The victim was under an active stay-away temporary order of protection against the 14-year-old. The order, which was issued by the Westchester County Family Court, is valid through Dec. 2, police said.

Authorities said the victim was at the Xtra Fuel gas station at 1917 Commerce St. around 4:30 p.m. when the 14-year-old walked by, saw him and began shouting at him which violated the order of protection.

A juvenile appearance ticket was served to a parent of the 14-year-old boy on his behalf at the Yorktown Police Department.

He is due to appear in the Westchester County Department of Probation Sept. 19.
