Homeless Man Arrested After Stealing From Self-Storage Units: Police

The suspect was in possession of burglar's tools and stolen items, according to the Yorktown Police Department.

YORKTOWN, NY — Police have arrested a suspect on felony charges in connection with thefts from a Westchester County self-storage faculty.

The Yorktown Police Department says that 31-year-old Ryan McCullough, a homeless man, was charged with felony third-degree burglary, felony fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, misdemeanor petit larceny, misdemeanor fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and misdemenaor possession of burglar's tools.

On Nov. 25, around 4:55 p.m., officers were called to the Cubesmart on Crompound Road, after receiving a report from a man who was missing items from his storage unit.

Detectives soon identified McCullough as a suspect. Investigators say he unlawfully entered storage units, and stole items. McCullough was in possession of burglar's tools, and stolen items, according to police.

He was later found by Yorktown detectives and arrested on Dec. 17. After being taken to Yorktown Police Department headquarters for arrest processing, McCullough was arraigned by a judge, and remanded to the Westchester County Jail.

He is due back in the Yorktown Justice Court on January 6.
