2-Car Accident Leads To 2nd Crash, Drunken Driving Accusation
Police said one car involved in a two-car crash left the scene of the accident and then crashed again.
YORKTOWN, NY — A two-car accident led to an accusation of drunken driving for a Yorktown man.
The Yorktown Police Department said officers were sent around 9 p.m. Saturday for a two-car accident on Route 202 in which one of the vehicles left the scene.
As the officers were responding to the scene, the fleeing car crashed on Ridge Street.

Robert Sullivan, 53, of Yorktown, was identified as the driver who fled the scene, police said.
Officers determined he was driving while he was intoxicated and, among other things, was driving at an improper speed.

Sullivan was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor, and fail to use designated lane, move from lane unsafely, speed not reasonable or prudent and left scene of property damage accident, traffic infractions.
Police said Sullivan was issued traffic tickets for the charges and released on his own recognizance when his blood alcohol content was below the legal limit.
He is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court June 16.
