Cortlandt Man Accused Of Drunken Driving In Yorktown
Police said he crashed into an embankment, then he overturned and struck a tree.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Cortlandt Manor resident was accused of driving while drunk after his car crashed into an embankment.
The Yorktown Police Department said Anthony N. Olivieri, 55, of Cortlandt Manor, was arrested Thursday and charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor, and speed not reasonable and prudent and failure to keep right, traffic infractions.
Around 1:40 a.m. Thursday, police said they received a report of a motor vehicle accident on Route 118 in the area of Birdsall Drive.

The officer who responded to the scene located the car and started an investigation.
It was found that Olivieri was driving while intoxicated by alcohol, causing him to crash into an earth embankment, then overturn and strike a utility pole.

He was taken to the Westchester Medical Center for evaluation.
Olivieri was issued traffic tickets for the charges and released on his own recognizance to the care of hospital staff.
He is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Oct. 3.
