CT Man Drives Drunk With 2 Children In Car: PD
Police said the children were scared of the way their father was driving and called their mother who, in turn, called the authorities.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Connecticut man was arrested after being accused of driving drunk with his two children in his car.
The Yorktown Police Department said, shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday, they received a request from a mother to check on the welfare of her children: a 14-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy.
The woman said her children had called her and told her they were scared because their father was driving erratically. They said they were afraid they might crash, police said.

When the car stopped at a red light on Route 6, the children got out of their father's car and were then stranded on the side of the road.
An officer sent to the scene found the children and took them to the police department where they were reunited with their mother.

A short time later, the officer saw the car being driven by Christopher Mangan, 47, of Stamford, Connecticut, on Route 6 committing multiple traffic infractions.
Mangan's car was stopped by the officer who determined the man was driving drunk.
He was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.
An additional investigation found he had been driving drunk with two children in the car.
Mangan was charged with two counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child, felonies, and aggravated driving while intoxicated blood alcohol content of 0.18 percent or more and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanors.
He was also charged with multiple traffic infractions.
Mangan was arraigned by a judge who issued a temporary order of protection on behalf of the victims.
He was released on his own recognizance to a responsible adult and is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Aug. 4.
