Cyclist Killed, Driver Rushed To Hospital In Early Morning Crash
The identity of the crash victim is being withheld until his family is notified, according to Yorktown police.
YORKTOWN, NY — An early morning crash in Westchester County left a cyclist dead, and a driver hospitalized.
The Yorktown Police Department says that it is investigating the fatal motor vehicle accident involving a bicyclist that took place on Route 134, around 7:47 a.m. on Thursday.
Police say that a man on a bicycle was struck in the roadway by a vehicle, and was declared dead at the scene. The identity of the victim is being withheld until his family is notified, according to police.

The driver of the vehicle involved, a 21-year-old Yorktown resident, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital.
Yorktown police, along with New Castle police, Empress EMS, the Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corp., the Yorktown Fire Department, and the Millwood Fire Department responded to the scene after the accident was reported.

Yorktown police say the investigation into the accident is being conducted by the Town of Yorktown Police Department Accident Investigation Unit and the Westchester County Department of Public Safety Accident Investigation Unit.
