Entergy Employees on NBC's Today Show with Tom Brokaw
Military veterans and current Indian Point employees Mike Wright and Gary Taylor discussed the importance of hiring veterans and Entergy's commitment to "hiring heroes" on NBC's Today Show Monday morning.

Write told Brokaw that he believes he is a better worker now that he has military experience and was never concerned that Entergy would not have his job waiting for him when he returned. In fact, Entergy supported his deployments.

Gary Taylor, the driving force behind Entergy’s new Hiring Our Heroes initiative, explained that companies like Entergy see veteran support as an investment in the bottom line." He said it is a competitive advantage to businesses to tap into men and women who have served in the military. They are bold leaders and hard workers, he explained.
Despite this, there are one million unemployed veterans today and 30 percent of those under 24 years old are jobless, Brokaw said.

Wright said that the young people serving today are amazing. "They are willing to do what it takes to accomplish a mission," he said.
"We need to better communicate to corporate america how that translates (into the business world). We have the next greatest generation here."
