Fallen Tree in Shrub Oak Causes Power Loss
A tree on East Main Street, Shrub Oak falls down on wires and two poles, causing power loss in the neighborhood.
A tree fell on wires and two poles between the John C. Hart Memorial Library and the Shrub Oak United Methodist Church shortly after 3 p.m. today. It caused power loss to some people in the neighborhood.
Lake Mohegan Fire Department firefighters responded to the scene and blocked off the area.
Firefighter Paul Lourenco said the tree which caused the most damage in the district will take a while to be removed because there are live wires everywhere.

Within 15 minutes the Lake Mohegan Fire Department received at least six calls of reports of fallen trees after rain started and lightning struck, Lourenco said.
According to fire department officials, there are at least four fallen trees in Mohegan Lake and two in Cortlandt.
