Family Fun Has Focus On Health At Hilltop Hanover Farm This Saturday

Families will be able to participate in several physical and environmental health activities, including fun runs on the farm.

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, NY — Families are invited to Hilltop Hanover Farm this Saturday to "journey past the crop fields, bolt through the trails, and dash over the roaring hills for a scenic run."

Grab the kids and head over to Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center this Saturday for its Head for the Hilltop event. Organizers say families will be able to participate in several physical and environmental health activities.

The fun will kick off at 8:30 a.m. with a Kids Fun Run, followed by a 5K at 9 a.m. You can register here.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be a variety of free outdoor fitness classes and children’s activities. Health and wellness vendors will be on site along with food trucks. In addition, there will also be opportunities to participate in volunteer projects.

"Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center is the County’s education center that focuses on the development and advancement of sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship, community education, and accessible food systems for all," Westchester County Executive George Latimer said. "Participants will have top tier educators teaching them how to nurture the environment while they also learn ways to maintain their physical health."

While parking and admission to the event are free, there are registration fees for the Kids Fun Run and 5K.

"This first-of-its-kind event at Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center offers participants a unique opportunity to learn how to care for the environment in addition to learning more about one’s health and wellness, as both are important in everyday life," Commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, Kathy O’Connor said.
