Children Get to Play With Food at Super Duper Mini Chefs Event

Families can have fun with food, learn to play a new action puzzle game and give back to their community during a special event on June 23 in Yorktown.

Pint-sized food lovers and even the pickiest eaters will have a blast exploring the creativity of cuisine through a combination of demonstrations and interactive activities at the 's Super Duper Mini Chefs event this Saturday. 

At the event, taking place on June 23, from 1 p.m to 2:30 p.m. in the Center Court, children can participate in a number of food-focused activities – including making popcorn and snow cones; food demonstrations and tasting; planting seeds for fresh herbs, creating pasta necklaces; a paper plate craft; apron decorating and an activity hosted by Macaroni Kids Yorktown.

Event attendees will also receive a recipe card for Spaghetti Tacos, and a colorful plate to continue the culinary creativity at home.

Also as part of the event, kids are encouraged to lend a hand to those in need by bringing a non-perishable food item to Jefferson Valley Mall to be donated to the Food Pantry at . 

"Super Duper Mini Chefs provides kids an outlet to express their imagination and have a good time being inspired by the art of food," said Jayne Stilson, assistant vice president of business development for Simon Brand Ventures, the business-to-consumer division of Simon Property Group.
