Gonzalez Faces New Zealand, Yorktown Flea Market to Open, Football Players Needed

1. Gonzalez Faces New Zealand
The United States women’s field hockey team will face New Zealand in the Olympic games at 2 p.m. EST on Saturday, Aug. 4. Go Alum and Olympian and Team USA!
2. Yorktown Flea Market

A flea market is coming to Yorktown this weekend. The opening date is Sunday, Aug. 5. The flea market, located on Veterans Road behind the Yorktown Heights Fire Department, will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to read more about the market and the woman behind it.
3. Pee Wee Football Players Needed

The Cortlandt Panthers Pop Warner Football is looking for children from the area to join their organization and play football. They're seeking Pee Wee players for their 2012 team. Pee Wee is for 9–12 year olds between 75 and 120 lbs (12 year olds need to be lighter than 90 lbs). If you have any questions, please contact coach Rick Hernandez at jefe1380@aol.com.
4. Olympic Gymnast Trained in Chappaqua
The Chappaqua-Mt. Kisco Patch had a story Wednesday about Olympic gymnast John Orozco placing 8th in the men's individual all-around final—not qualifying for a medal. While he did not win a medal, Orozco has won the support from folks locally. At in Chappaqua, where Orozco trained from 2001 to 2010, there was support and excitement for him as he went through tough times. Folks cheered into the last event, and some sported T-shirts in his honor.
5. Ice Hockey Camp
New York Rangers goaltender and 2012 Vezina Trophy winner Henrik Lundqvist will hold a hockey camp at Brewster Ice Arena in Brewster later this month. The two-day event wil be held Aug. 25 to 26th from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. for kids 7 to 10 and from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for kids 11 to 15. for more details.
