Heat Wave Continues, High School Proms, Patch Cobras Win Championship

1. Heat Wave Continues

Thursday is going to be another hot day, with temperatures in the high near 96.  The County Health Department has i expecting high temperatures and humidity. for information on staying cool in the heat

2. Yorktown School Bus Accident

Three children and a school bus driver were taken to the hospital Wednesday morning following a minor accident at the intersection of Stoney Street and the Bear Mountain Parkway in Yorktown. There were no serious injuries. to read more about it.

3. Yorktown High School Prom

The senior prom is tonight. For the first, time, for all students attending the prom, there will be a free post-prom event designed from a survey distributed by the senior class earlier this year, and sponsored by the Alliance for Safe Kids.

4. Patch Cobras Win Softball Championship

The Cobras team has won the 10U YAC Girls Softball Championship game, which was played at the  softball diamond. The Cobras beat the Rattlers by the score of 12-11.

5. Graduation Weekend

This weekend Lakeland and Yorktown school districts will be holding their high school graduations on Saturday, June 23.

's graduation is at 1 p.m. at SUNY Purchase

's graduation is at 10 a.m. at the Westchester County Center.

’ graduation is at 2 p.m Saturday, June 23 at the Westchester County Center.
