House Cleaner Accused Of Stealing $13K Ring From Yorktown Home: Police

The 26-year-old Spring Valley woman was charged with felony third-degree grand larceny, according to Yorktown police.

YORKTOWN, NY — Investigators have traced jewelry missing from a Westchester home to the homeowner's house cleaner.

The Yorktown Police Department says that a 26-year-old Spring Valley woman was charged with felony third-degree grand larceny.

On Saturday, around 1:15 p.m., officers went to a Yorktown home after receiving a report of the possible theft of a ring, valued at $13,000.

After an investigation, police say that Rosa Celmira Tene Guaillas, who was working at the home as a cleaner, was in possession of the jewelry without the owner's permission or knowledge.

She was then arrested and brought to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.

Tene Guaillas was arraigned and released on her own recognizance. She is due to appear before the Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday.
