A 57-year-old Jefferson Valley man is facing criminal charges following a road rage incident during which he allegedly punched and slapped another man, said. Ronald Hippolyte was charged with third-degree attempted assault and third-degree menacing, both misdemeanors.  Police said on Aug. 1 they received a complaint about the assault, which had taken place on Route 6 in the vicinity of Orange County Pools. Investigation revealed the defendant allegedly punched and slapped a male victim several times and threatened to burn him. Hippolyte voluntarily appeared at Yorktown Police headquarters the next day. He was placed under arrest and released without bail.
