LEF Announces Spring Grant Recipients

The Lakeland Education Foundation has announced a total of $46,000 in grants for its Spring 2012 grant cycle. Created in 1994, the Foundation has now awarded more than $443,000 in grants to help enhance the educational experience of students in the district.

The Spring 2012 grant recipients include:

• Fit for Life Fitness Room submitted by Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School's Jonathan Hourahan
• 9/11 Books For Kids submitted by George Washington Elementary School's Betsy Kates 
• Pottery Wheels (two) submitted by Lakeland High School's Lynn Vogel 
• Higher Order Thinking Games submitted by Thomas Jefferson's Kathleen Costello 
• Enhancing Speech Therapy Via Interactive Software submitted by Benjamin Franklin Elementary School's Jennifer Holdman
• Listen and Learn submitted by George Washington Elementary School's Danielle Colasante
• One School, One Book submitted by George Washington Elementary School's Betsy Kates
• Materials Processing submitted by Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School's Brian Smith and Edward Becker
• Using Technology in the AP Environmental and Chemistry classes submitted by Lakeland High School's Wendy Ganz
• Hatching Chicks submitted by Benjamin Franklin Elementary School's Danielle Stiehl
