"Let them eat cake"

As millions of Americans struggle with food and healthcare insecurity, the president is out of touch

Legend has it that when Queen Marie Antoinette was told that the peasants had no bread to eat and were starving, she glibly replied, “Let them eat cake”. The French Revolution ensued.

Millions of Americans will suffer from food insecurity and lack of health care while our President surrounds himself with the trappings of wealth and luxury at our expense. Congress, including our own Rep. Mike Lawler has been literally absent and silent about these developments. (More than 18,000 households in Lawler’s district receive SNAP benefits). Out of touch, indifferent, or just plain cruel?
