Less than a year after Diego Sarmiento became his own boss by opening Diego's Deli, BBQ and Catering business in Mohegan Lake, he has closed doors.
A new business has already signed a lease and it is set to open within the next 4 to 5 weeks, the building's landlord, Rick Cipiani, told Patch.
Sarmiento's deli closed down three months ago after ConEd shut off its electricity and Cipiani speculated it was because the business owner wasn't able to pay the bills.
When Patch interviewed Sarmiento last August, he said he was operating the then-newly opened Diego's Deli along with his wife Johanna. Unlike other delis in the area, Sarmiento said he cooked everything himself – from the pulled pork, to the ribs, homemade BBQ sauce, corn bread and potato salads.
Stayed tuned with Patch for more information on the new hair salon, which will be located on Route 6, across the street from the Mohegan Diner next to Dunkin Donuts.
