Mohegan Lake Man Accused Of Driving Without License
Police said the man was stopped after being seen speeding on Route 6.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Mohegan Lake man was accused of driving without a license after being stopped for speeding.
The Yorktown Police Department said Elmer Ventura Garcia, 42, of Mohegan Lake, was arrested Saturday and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and speed not reasonable or prudent, a traffic infraction.
Police said, shortly before 11:30 p.m. Saturday, an officer on patrol on Route 6 in the area of Strawberry Road said he saw a vehicle going west on Route 6 at a high rate of speed.

After a traffic stop, a routine check of Garcia’s license found his privilege to drive was revoked.
He was issued two uniform traffic tickets at the scene and released on his own recognizance.

Garcia is next scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Feb. 27.
