New Business in Mohegan Lake, Golf for a Good Cause, Somers Library Foundation's 5K

Here are five things you need to know July 20 to July 22.

1. TCBY's Grand Opening in Mohegan Lake

, customers will receive free 3 oz. frozen yogurt over the weekend– on July 21 and July 22. The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 21 at 10:30 a.m.

After that there will be certificates, hats and t-shirt giveaways; as well as a raffle for a bike and a TV until 11 p.m. From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. balloon artists and face painters will be entertaining customers, who could also enjoy a live band performance by "Subject to Change" from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

2. Golf for a Good Cause

The 2012 Richard Lavino Memorial Scholarship golf outing will be held at the Mahopac Golf Club on Monday, July 23. This new tournament is in memory of  longtime Varsity Golf Coach and teacher Richard Lavino, who passed in 2011.

Proceeds from the tournament are used to fund annual scholarships in Coach Lavino’s name. to read more about how to register.

4. Somers Library Foundation's 5K

Mark your calendars and gte ypur running shoes out! On Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, the Somers Library Foundation will hold a 5K Trail Race and 1-Mile Family Fun Run. Participants can register on-line:www.somerslibraryfoundation.org

5. Congrats Somers Red Storm Baseball Team

Congratulations to the Somers Red Storm baseball team. They made the final 16 in Cooperstown.
