Peekskill Man Injures Self Exiting Moving Car: Yorktown Police

He has been charged with driving while intoxicated, police said.

JEFFERSON VALLEY, NY — Yorktown police said a Peekskill man injured himself outside the Jefferson Valley Mall when he got out of a car while it was moving.

Police said they were called to the shopping center at 3:26 p.m. Oct. 5 for a report of an injured person in the parking lot.

The investigating officer concluded that Leonidas Lobato was driving while intoxicated and hurt himself when he got out of the moving car. Lobato, 50, was charged with DWI and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries, police said.

He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown town court Oct. 17.
