Police: Cortlandt Manor Woman, 22, Charged with DWI

A 22-year-old Cortlandt Manor woman, who was stopped by police for speeding on Route 202, now faces a drunken driving charge.
Ashley Torres was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, misdemeanors, as well as speed not reasonable and prudent, a traffic infraction.
Her vehicle was pulled over last Tuesday at about 10:50 p.m. Police conducted an investigation and placed Torres under arrest for allegedly driving while intoxicated. Following a chemical test at police headquarters, police allege the woman was operating the motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level of .18 percent or more, leading to the aggravated driving while intoxicated charge.

The defendant was released to a third party and scheduled to appear in on Aug. 21.
