Police: Drunk Driver Gets into Car Accident in Yorktown, Treated for Head Injuries

A 57-year-old Fishkill man faces a drunken driving charge in Yorktown after said he got into a car accident Wednesday evening.

Police revealed at the scene that the driver of one of the vehicles, Nicholas P. Belowch, was allegedly driving while in an intoxicated condition. The accident was reported on June 27 at about 7:27 p.m. at the intersection of Route 6 and Sunnyside Avenue.

The defendant was transported by Mohegan Volunteer Ambulance Corps to the Westchester County Medical Center for treatment of head injuries sustained during the accident.

Belowch was issued a traffic summons in reference to the charge and was then released to the Medical Center staff. The man was scheduled to appear in on July 26.
