Police: Landlord Uses Handgun to Menace Somers Tenants

The following information was provided by the New York State Police. It does not indicate a conviction.

A landlord was charged with menacing his two Somers tenants after he displayed a handgun Thursday afternoon during a dispute, state police troopers said. 

Robert P. Kardian, a Hawthorne resident, allegedly arrived at the residence on Young Road on June 28 and became involved in a dispute with a 41-year-old woman and her son.

Police said he allegedly displayed a handgun during the dispute. Police did not identify what the argument was over, but the man was taken into custody while he was in possession of a 38-caliber handgun.

Kardian was charged with two counts of second-degree menacing, misdemeanors.

He was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail and was scheduled to reappear before the town of Somers Court on July 9.
