Yorktown Man Charged with Drunk Driving on July 4

A 29-year-old Yorktown man faces a drunken driving charge after being stopped him for failure to stay within his vehicle's designated lane, said. 

Edgar Chacon was stopped on Route 202 on July 4 at about 2:45 a.m. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or more, misdemeanors; and failure to use designated travel lane, a traffic infraction.

The man was released to a family member and was scheduled to appear on Aug. 7.

A 51-year-old Peekskill man faces an aggravated unlicensed operation charge in Yorktown, police said. 

On July 2 at about 6:50 a.m., Jose R. Villa was stopped on Route 6 at Hill Boulevard for passing a red light and having an expired registration, police said. A DMV check revealed the man's driver's license was allegedly suspended for failure to answer a summons, police said. 

Villa was released on $200 cash bail and scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 2.

Three Charged With Soliciting Without Permit

Three men face violation charges that they allegedly solicited residents for home improvement services without a permit, police said. 

Police discovered the incident when they received a phone call from a resident on July 3. 

The 22-year-old Cortlandt Manor resident and two 18-year-old Yonkers teens were located a short time later in the vicinity. They were released and scheduled to appear in court on July 26.
